Does this always happen before RROD? With pic

I got the RROD today, but just before it happened, i took pics when my 360 froze.

This happened multiple times, during games and on the dashboard. I have seen this happen with an overclocked videocard, and wondered if this was normal before the RROD. my return box is on its way. :(

when this happened to you and you got it back, was it fixed, or have you had any problems since?

it seems all too common that people are receiving their boxes back only to find that the problem was not solved.

i hope i get a new 360 (unlikely) if only for the quieter drive.

here are some variations of artifacts that i got before it officially RROD'd.

when you get the RROD, do you get it every time you turn your console on?

from a cold start (an hour + of inactivity) i am able to turn my console on, and do anything i want for ~5 minutes before the console freezes, but the lights for players 1-4 on the 360 go out, leaving the power light in the middle of the circle green.

i can usually shut it off, then turn it back on and it freezes again. it takes 2 or 3 times of doing this before the red rings turn on.

i just want to make sure microsoft sends me a new 360 or repairs mine instead of them turning it on when they get it and not wait the 5 minutes or so that it takes for it to freeze.

when I had to send mine in after it RROD'd, they sent me a brand new system and I have had it for about 2-3 weeks, Haven't had a single problem with it, it is actually a lot quieter...
