After playing NCAA 08, I'd have to say this is by a large margin the best year for football games since 96 =D (NFL QBack Club '96 ftw!). However, I'm not buying it as my plate is too full at the moment, and Bioshock will be stealing my time. Fantasy football will suffice.
But it isn't new stuff. It is just making the new ones more like the last-gen games, which isn't bad at all by any means. I liked when they had the innovation that 2004 had with the playmakers (which this version doesn't have, atleast I haven't seen them). The next-gen games are basically just filling in the gaps right now between them and last-gen. Maybe in 2 years they will finally be up to speed to start adding innovation.
Yes madden is changing,the graphics are allwaysgetting better, there are new features every year, the physics are better you cant run through people anymore, the jukes are better you can now choosewhich way you want to spin and the highlight stick works much better,the superstar mode has been changed now its even better, the weapons system in superstar mode makes it so even the same position can be played 4 different ways (one of which you have to unlock), and many things have improved on the franchise mode.
Madden has changed. Unfortunetly it's gotten worse every year since it made the jump from 2d to 3d. 2K rules football in the 3d era. Too bad the nfl is stupid with their license.
It's like talking to a brick wall with 2k fanboys and madden haters. Are you guys just going to keep saying "BUT ITS NOT NEW, ITS THE SAME GAME!"? There sooo much new stuff read the reviews dammit.
Madden isn't that good. All the hype, for what? Some dumb features nobody wants and roster updates? Great! If I wanted to getrobbedI'djustgodowntownandgetmugged.
They haven't even caught up to the old gen in features. They have not done anything to take advantage of their exclusive NFL license. They haven't even made online leagues. Gosh, I never know what they're doing back there.

yea they looked good at the time but 2K just hasn't kept up with Madden
