I think their alright, especially the smell of them when you first get them, but I don't like how they make a weird crack noise while you put your game back in the case, or out, which makes me worry about my disk so I change the new game cases to the old ones when that happens, which doesn't happen too often. I know you could push the middle circular button like you do on every game case, but that doesn't change the weird crack noise they have while putting it back in, or out, in these new game cases. The old ones never gave me this problem, push the middle circular button, no crack noise at all. What are your opinions about the game cases?

Yeah, this. It makes the case feel all flimsy and cheap.

I much prefer the older cases. The new ones, that cracking noise? It's exactly what it sounds like, which is the problem. I am VERY careful with my games, but even pressing in on that circle until it is fully 'closed' still allows the bits of plastic to grip at the inside of the game circle. I have two games that have tiny chunks out of them because of this case design, and I have tried every method to get them back in without them risking a chip but have yet to find a way. I suppose grinding off the little tabs might work, but for now I find simply resting the disk on the game manual and then closing it is a much safer alternative to clicking it back into place. Also, like Steameffekt stated, it indeed makes the game case feel very cheap. I understand how it would, much of it is missing! But just because it is good for the environment doesn't mean it serves it's purpose well. I am rather discouraged that almost every new game I buy now has this case style, I can't fathom how it has stayed in production when there is so much dislike for it.

Do you mean the cases with the circular pop thingy? If those are the new ones, I like those better.

It doesn't matter to me either way really because as soon as I get a new game I immediately take the game out of the DVD case and put it in a jewel case. I've had too many bad experiences with 360 DVD cases cracking discs.

To be honest I never noticed but I do remember my MW2 disc and RE5 disc cracking in the middle from the crappy disc holder.

I believe they are comparing the hard platic cases with the easy CD release, (PS1) and complaring the soft plastic with the snap-op cd release on todays xbox 360 and PS3 cases.
