yeah you need to pay to play online but if you want to download stuff its free but some of them you need to pay.
online is definately worth it for the money. agreat experience and you wont get the most from your 360 without live.on ebay i got a 12+1 card for just over £20 which is a good deal. plus you get a month free with your 360.so my advice is go on ebay find the best deal and you can get 14 months of xbl quite cheap.
In order to play online you have to have a X-box Live gold member ship.It's around fifty bucks a year, That like around four bucks a month. It's really not that expensive and it's worth it, I think.
