Connecting MP3 player to 360

I realised that you are able to connect your MP3 player to the 360 and play music from it whilst playing a game, and was looking forward to doing this. However, when I attempt to do this, the media will stop playing after about 5 seconds and then switch to the next song.

Is there a way to rectify this?

What's the MP3 player? Maybe it isn't compatible with the 360?Timbo84
