So I visited Circuit City today, and went over to the 360 section, and as I peeked into the display for the thing, I noticed it had the Red Ring of Death. Ihad quite thechuckle and mutted the word 'owned' to my brother...just goes to show how crappy the hardware in the 360 can be...but I do think they should put those 360 displays in an open area.

I know this topic get's posted every once in awhile, but I thought it might bring up some funny memories for some people.

Not surprised it obtained the ring of death. The display console is probably from launch, unless it has been replaced multiple times. On top of that, the console's on for almost half a day, every day.

However, I have noticed more often than not, that the PS3's on display have had hardware failures.

yeah, I imagine that console being on for the entire day, and what's worse inside a plastic bubble. It's like a ticking bomb

Yeah those plastic bubbles suck. I even seen occasional ps3s that froze being inside of those things. Kind of stinks.

I've also seen a "bubble" 360 with the RRoD. Amazing that my Launch Console which has been used for COUNTLESS hours is still fine. You'd think they'd remove the console, as it may inspire a lack of buyer confidence!

While I was playing a PS3 at best buy the other day, it bricked on me. No, I'm not joking. I got the hell out of dodge though after I was positive it was broken.

i work at circuit city, and the only reason it would have the ring of death is the same reason most idiots have with theres, they dont let it breathe, keeping it all cramped up.

I've actually encountered more frozen PS3's than RROD 360's. They honestly should rethink the designs for the housing of these systems. The step from last generation to this generation was pretty large in terms of heat generation.
