Can a second-hand xbox adaptor have anything dodgy on it?

I have a friend who is very dodgy - he once gave me a memory stick with something which kept making my printer print odd pictures and a audio cd which possibly had spyware on it (i'm not entirely sure though).

He offered to give me an xbox adaptor and i'm a bit scared. Honestly I don't think it has anything dodgy on it, but he's offering to me for free for some reason so i'm a bit nervous. If he found a way to do anything he probably would for the laughs.

So potentially could it have something which could be dangerous like something which could spy or something?

thanks in advance
