Why would you bother posting this if you're already "going into the direction" of one them?

For crying out loud, just go buy the freaking game.

It kind of depends on what type of games you like to play the most. Like the above poster said, one of the reasons why I haven't gotten mass effect yet is because I can't put COD4 do yet.

i personally enjoy mass effect alot more then cod4. cod4 didn't offer me something i didn't already have its good but nothing new in the series or for FPS in general. mass effect is probably my favorite game of the year and its perhaps the first time i've played and rpg knowing i will definitely play it again with a different class. i would highly recommend it, even if you end up getting cod4 i'd still get mass effect when ever you can.

im about 8 hours into mass effect n I think COD4 is probably the better choice, at least for quicker gratification.. plus ME has serious framerate issues

You should not be allowed to post these moronic questions. Halo 3 or Bioshock? CoD 4 or Mass Effect? Dang people, they are games in completely different and uncomparable genres. Grow a brain, do some research, and make up your own friggin mind.

i'll say Mass Effect, because i dont have COD4...

Mass Effect is a really good game, and i havent experienced any technical problems so far.. no framerate issues, no glitches, nothing like that..

i must have a special copy of the game:P

played both and beat both, both r great games cod is my favortie game of the year single player was so graphiclly impressive even tho it was short ive gone back and played through it twice just because it was so much fun. mass effect lasts longer the first time around a slower pace but still has a great story with it and im trying to play through it again but since i already know the story and since the story takes up way more time than game play its hard to sit down and do it. my choice is call of duty if u have to choose it based on single player but if u add multiplayer in it then call of duty wins hands down but pick up both of them rent one if u can afford both its worth it

It really comes down to whether you enjoy a rich, lengthy and replayable single player campaign, or an unusually immersive multiplayer experience. My answer? Sell your old games and get both.

call of duty is truly a great game. i worked most of it to finish, some of the veteren levels are just too much though. i'm not real into multiplayer, but this was good and i had some fun times with it. i'll rent it again before the year ends.

right now, i'd vote cod4 as game of the year. i didn't think it would be something so great, but it really is.

i've yet to play assassins creed though, it's here. just haven't begun, so...

I have Mass Effect and Ive played through COD 4. Mass Effect is defenently the better choice, its campaign will keep you playing for up to 50-60hours! COD is a good shooter but thats it, ME is innovative and truely awesome.

They're both great games but if you want a bit faster pace action go for CoD4. If you are looking for a great story but at a bit slower pace go for Mass Effect. Eventually you should play them both or you could just try renting one to see for yourself.

hard to compair because both games are completely diff. Ask yourself what you like more, do you like to play multi player or do you enjoy hrs and hrs of single player action.

Mass Effect. COD4 is so unforgivably short it's over before you know it. Anyway it just seemed like another shooter to me, nothing special. Multiplayer is good though.

They aren't entirely pointless, but lolz at my post >_> (Even if I do believe it true). He is asking for other peoples opinions on the matter. Whether he uses them or finds them useful is up to him.
