Best RPG on 360? (excluding Oblivion)

Mass Effect is probably one of the best RPGs I've ever played, and definitley one of the best on the 360. Get hold of the experience it offers now, because it is a great one that you will never forget and can relive many times over.

I've never played Eternal Sonata, but I plan to in the future, and I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Also, if you haven't played Knights of the Old Republic, even though it is an Xbox title, you should check it out, along with Jade Empire.

Eternal sonata, definitely it is my favourite ever xbox 360 RPG, and has so much replayability, second would be phantasy star, and third mass effect, though if i could pick oblivion it would come second.

Mass effect is good but not as good as everyone says it is, sadly i couldnt really get into it that much, maybe il try again some time.

Mass Effect, hands down. Eternal Sonata gets second place if Oblivion isn't involved.

Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey are also pretty solid if you're looking for classic-style JRPGs.

I wouldn't be so quick to recommend playing KOTOR on the 360. I bought it a few days ago, and emulation issues make it almost completely unplayable on the 360.

Never played mass effect though, never fancied it, also was choice between madden or mass effect :P madden wins every time for me.

Maybe I will try mass effect some time though, meant to be good :)

Mass Effect IMO is way better than Oblivion. Oblivion was such a downgrade from Marrowind.

first of all oblivion is not exclusive anymore, but I would have to say Bioshock was the best exlusive or Gearsiboo01

I think you meant Mass Effect, Oblivion was never exclusive

Sites like GameSpot are part of the hype machine and are usually paid to give high scores (remember Jeff) to hyped games (Halo 3, Oblivion), however you have no idea how many people prefer Morrowind over Oblivion, System Shock 2 over BioShock, Halo 2 over Halo 3 etc.

Just check out the PC forum and see how much Oblivion is hated there, Oblivion is not considered an RPG, more like an action adventure

Mass effect was too short to be considered a real RPG. Oblivion is incredible, but I am leaning towards Lost Oddesy, I have been playing for only a few hours and its awesome so far. ( Just a note, Gamespots Review might be edited. The editor wrote a note on the bottom of the review about the loading times not being as long on the retail version )locoidontknow

too short? only the stroy mode was on the short side and the epicness of it made up for that but there where tons to explore and loads of sidequests

I spent 37 hours on my first playthrough. While it's a tad shorter than I generally like my RPG's to be, it's anything but "too short to be considered an RPG"
