What's the average time for a demo download? I'm just wondering how long it may take to download.

I plan on downloading the Frontlines demo, or maybe the eternal sonata demo, and i'm not sure if I should leave my xbox on all night to download one. One last note, i'm on a DSL connection.

What speed DSL? They range from 512kbps to over 6meg so DSL doesn't tell me much. I have 6meg DSL and it takes about 30 minutes to download a gig. Sometimes a little more.

No, it'll be longer than that for a gig. That's kilobits, not kilobytes.

Yeah, it's kbps, i'm just used to typing a / to denote "per". Wouldn't Kb/s be worse than dial-up?

No, it's a common misconception. Internet speed is almost always measured in kilobits, including 56k dial-up. 700+ is still more than 10x the speed of dialup. There are 8 bits in a byte, and im sure you know the heirarchy as far as kilo-mega-giga and so on, so you can do the math.

I downloaded The Burnout: Paradise demo and it took about 4 hours. I don't know how fast my DSL is, but it shouldn't have taken that long. The demo is only 800 or 900 megs... Sucks for me.

well that's nothing, i used a regular cable, and took me around 1 hour for 100MB files. but if a good connection around 1 hour for 150MB. i wish my parents not a cheap. well at least it's better than dial up
