It does happen. I was in EB a few days ago and this 60 year old guy was asking about Fable 2. Anways me and him got a talking, and he owns a 360. He says he buys at least 2 games a month.

You really can't say that and be sure, yes 80 is a grand old age to be playing games but still it happens.
Anyways, it is still Summer! Christmas, isn't around the corner. Assassins Creed, Mass Effect, Halo 3, etc are around the corner, Christmas is around the corner after that.
My friend showed his WWII veteran grandpaCoD 2, he went out the next day and bought a 360 and CoD 2 for himself.kylet6891
Yeah because reliving one of the most traumatic moments of your life in video game form is just awesome.
Veterans were in tears or worse when watching Saving Private Ryan, and I can't imagine someone playing a game based on WWII. It would be an insult to them that people are being entertained by what many of their friends died for.

Vetteman is kind of a know-it-all prick Actually, not kind of: he just is. Just because you think it wasn't for him doesn't mean it wasn't. I'd also guess that mid-80's was kind of a high estimate, and that stuff was probably for him. You know how I can tell? He bought several games that received good reviews. Every time I ask for a gaming related item from a non-gaming adult, I never get good stuff. He obviously knows what's going on in the gaming world.
I doubt he was buying the games for someone else, or else he would'ent have preordered halo 3. If he was buying it for someone else his grand-son should be greatfull his grand-dad has such great taste when it comes to action games :Dloky3000
His grandkid could of just made a christmas or birthday list of things he wanted.. and he just got them all..
The average age for Gamers nowis 30 something so it isn't hard for me to believe this. If the guy's mind is still sharp and his hands still work at that age good for him.In your 80's though a lot of things stop working right so most likely it wasn't for him, or the TC was exageratingabout how old he really was. daviwinn
Average gamer is 33 years old and have been playing for 12 years.
The most frequent games buyer is 38 years old.
