Which oneis the best setting for the 360? I thought the 720 p setting was better because the p stands for "progressive" which implies a better visual experience.

Please correct me if i'm wrong, I always play on 720p.

720p is usually better for shooters, fast moving games, etc. because it will draw the visuals faster. 1080i can look better, but it's more suited to slow paced games. That being said, i play 1080i and can't see a pixel of difference from playing 720p.

I play in 1080i, because 720p looks like complete trash on my tv. Mines at a kinds odd resolution though so that might be why.

progressive > interlaced

I would go with 720p over 1080i :)

I always thought that 1080i was always better because it was a highter number... Hey did anyone hear on the show attack of the show on G4 that there is going to be an even better type of HDTV with higher resolution/graphics! I can't wait till I can get my hands on one of those babys!

I used to play in 1080i, but I switched over to 720p just to see how I like it and I've never switched back. Go with 720p.

about the "new higher resolution screens" that someone posted before. I dont think it will have any use in the near future, the 360 focusses on 720P, the ps3 can also do 1080p but so far hasnt got 100% out of it. And thats consoles, tv-broadcasters just started broadcasting HD-Ready material. (atleast in Europe) So an even higher resolution of 2560x 1700? (thought it was something like this) is just a 'useless gadget' imo.

720p makes for smoother frames per second, but 1080i actually has more pixels on the screen at once. It's user choice, which is why 1080p is the best of the bunch.
