usualy when something blows out cold air it means it hasnt warmed up yet. like a car for example
Although I just got mine, I have past experiences on my friends Xboxes andI have a few tips.
1. "Keep it in a ventilatred area". I don't mean ventilated as in, "Looks nice here on the windowsill." I mean in an area that it has 1/2 a ft room at each vent.
2. "It's fan is f***ed". It's fan has been broken somehow. Stick a hoover in the bass. Just kidding. If you find no other reason, then get it sent away as it is probable the fan is broken.
3. "Try another room." Never tried this one, but the room itself may be too small and stuffy, try it in the practical middle of another largeroom. Dunno, maybe open a few windows and doors. This one is still untested and whatever, but if the fan is not broken, like this it should be well ventilated enough.

I got a question, i bought a fan and i faced it towards the back of my 360 when i'm playing it. Is it good or bad for my 360? Pls answer me, i need to know...lego863
I'm no expert, but I think it would be fine. Just make sure it isn't preventing the hot air from exiting the back of the system. And...if you're in a dusty place, make sure it isn't blowing dust into the back of your 360. I had a friend who put a fan blowing on his system too, but it was one of those air purifiers and never blew dust-filled air towards it. Might cause long-term problems.
