I was always under the impression that Shawn Michaels gave himself that nickname after the Rockers split. He wasn't exactly my favorite wrestler at the time (or for the decade following), so I'm having trouble with this one. I've narrowed it down to either Perfect and Macho Man, as both occupied the Color Commentator's position, around this time.

I'm going to go with Mr. Perfect, as he was the heel commentator and would be likely to talk up Michaels more than Savage, but its only a guess.
