I walk alot around my city. Everytime i coe across someone with a 3DS it is never the XL. ALl my friends have regular 3DS's and so do i. I think i've ran into almost 45 people and not one of them had an XL.

Anything wrong wth XL compared to regular?

I've never owned a regular 3DS, but my XL works well enough that I have little interest in comparisons.

It's the cheaper alternative maybe? XL is not suitable for children with small hands? Just to name a couple. Nothing is wrong with the XL, it's just not for everyone.

Unless people genuinely prefer the regular 3DS or never saw any personal reasons to upgrade, the original 3DS will only ever be preferred if people have never experienced the XL.

Not many people feel it's worth the cost to get an XL after they already have a 3DS. Also, some people like smaller handhelds.

Original was available for much longer and at a cheaper price. I won't be upgrading until the US gets some decent XL colors.

Nothing wrong with the XL compared to the regular one - it's an improvement in almost every way over the original.

Little reason to upgrade if you already owned one, though, and the launch model is cheaper for those on a budget.

For those just looking into a 3DS now, however, I couldn't in good conscience point them to an older model.

A lot of people seem to say that the 3D on he XL is downgraded. They say it's not as "3D" as the regular 3DS would have.

I actually just got an XL yesterday. It makes my old 3DS seem bad in comparison. I'm loving the bigger screens but what i'm appreciating most is that its so much more comfortable to hold.

It seems to be more prone to crosstalk/ghosting as the screens are bigger - to have a similar view as the original it has to be held further away.

A minor issue unless you have short arms, especially as the 3D effect is gimmicky most of the time anyway.

I have both, and I prefer the 3DS over the size and graphics of the XL.

The 3D effect is better on the original 3DS. I bought a 3D system. I want the best 3D.

xl are outselling the regular 3ds...ever since the xl launched. but

maybe its because so many people already owned one before the xl came out...

The XL is so comfy... I'll probably get one soon so my dad can play Pokemon and Animal Crossing... but what I really want is the black and pink 3DS!

Regular has been around longer so obviously more people have it.

    and

If you see someone with a 3DS on the go, which means they use it on the go, which means they value portability, which means they were less likely to choose XL.

Not to mention regular is cheaper.

Anything wrong wth XL compared to regular?

    1. More expensive

    2. Most people bought a 3DS far before XL was out, so 90% would only have a non XL model

Nothing else is wrong, the screen is so vastly better it is not even funny and the battery better as well

Personally i would never buy the normal one, i waited for the bigger model, since i cant grasp such a tiny device well at all

The XL is just about the perfect size

maybe they got their 3DS before the XL was offered and didn't feel the desire to make the upgrade, plus if they got anything from the online store the difficulty transferring rights may be making them reluctant

I just got myself a 3DS XL the other night, had a DS Lite before and played some of my DS games on the new 3DS XL it they look so much better on the bigger screen, personally I like the bigger screen, maybe some people prefer the portability of the regular 3DS though
