Despite being my (and many other people's) game of the year, FarCry 3 has one tiny flaw: it's a bit too easy, even on hard mode. This issue stands to be corrected very soon with the upcoming patch, which will add a Master difficulty setting, which supposedly will up the ante considerably. It's still unclear if this will be the rumored "one life only" mode that people were talking about before the game's release.

Another interesting tweak concerns outposts: many players have noted how after liberating all the outposts, the islands appear a little empty, with all the enemies gone. Now it will be possible to reset all outposts at any timein order to liberate them again. This will provide extra play time and possibly a chance for those who had the outposts achievement glitch on them to finally get it without starting the game over.

Lastly, the map community will be improved with a better search engine for user created content.

Looking forward to playing the game through on the new difficulty

Here's hoping the game gets extra story DLC as well.

    I play on PC, and

all you need is a silenced sniper rifle.

I even have to push myself to not use the sniper cuz its too easy.

Resetting the outposts kinda reminds of Crackdown, and how it got patched so you could reset the gangs.

Also, I only played this game for a few hours, and it was one of the best few hours of my life. I only got a $50 gift card for Christmas, and I had to use it for "surviving home alone" the next month, so I settled on Deus Ex: HR instead.

Forgive me if I say something vaguely off-topic, for my mind races everyday.

I love how respawning outposts was one of the biggest complaints in Far Cry 2 and now the community wants it back?

It wasn't the fact that they respawned that sucked (it adds replay value and makes things more interesting) but the fact that in FC2 they respawned if you simply looked in the other direction and back again.  Let 'em respawn, just make it take a little bit, like a day or a week.

I just want them to fix the crashes. Almost every time I am in a menu or buying something it freezes up and crashes. So annoying, I haven't been able to finish it yet because it is so frustrating to deal with.

They need to make it so the enemies will fight to take back the outposts, not simply just have them reset. That's stupid. I want to see an epic battle between friend and foe over an outpost I had previously cleared. That would be so awesome!!!

I only recently finished the game, and really enjoyed it.  Definitely one of my favourite FPS games in recent years.  I didn't really have an issue with the outposts not resetting, because it helped to make you feel that you were making progress to claim the islands back - and as I kept switching between story missions and exploration, I was encountering pirates etc., all the way through.  So resetting the outposts is something I personally would not use.

However, I think the things that made the game a bit too easy (for me) were (1) unlocking free weapons by claiming back the radio towers, and (2) the sheer profileration of loot/cash lying around.  I never once ran out of money - and actually got to the point where I was simply buying everything, including maps, just to get rid of all the cash I was carrying, and simply discarding half the items in my rucksack.  The game would have been much improved if access to better weapons was a lot harder, and you still had to purchase them after unlocking them.  That would have then required saving up to get a particular gun that caught your eye.

On reflection, if I went back and played the game now, I would not bother with much of the crafting, particularly for ammo/munitions pouches or increasing the number of weapons you can carry.  Personally I would opt for a more restrictive inventory, which I feel would help to make the combat more intense as you would have to conserve ammo, etc. while exploring and during combat.

The other thing I would have liked to see, though, was some kind of tougher commander figure in charge of each outpost.

I do hope the higher difficulty level they are introducing doesn't just turn enemies into bullet-sponges. :/

Exactly. Once I bought all available items I kept firing all my ammo and throwing all my grenades into the sea so that I could spend the money on something.

I enjoyed FC3 thoroughly and tbh, I didn't have any issue with the difficulty as I'm not a skilled/core gamer like most of you guys.

Bad guys respawning would be nice.

But my problems with FC3 are:

    1. Most of the main missions are too linear unlike FC2's. This is my biggest disappointment with FC3.

    2. The looting mechanics are flaw. Getting weapons for free is a stupid idea because it kills the motivation for explore and looting. Ai one point I have a ton of money without anything worthwhile to spend for.

    3. The South island is a bit boring compare to the North island.

One of my biggest problems with FC3, was how easy it was. Hopefully this makes it alot harder without being (One life only).
