System Wars is a one of a kind destination where gamers can discuss, rant, and debate about systems, platforms, handhelds and the games. Not many people survive System Wars. The mightiest system warriors back up their arguments with facts.

Rules are simple:
- Read the Terms of Use and System Wars Survival Guide.
- Must be Level 10 or higher to create topics.
- Keep your discussions around what belongs here: platforms, games, developers, publishers, and stats.
- Don't quote more than one image in your post.
- Do NOT post or bump extremely abusive discussions (adult material/illegal activities/illegal advertising/etc).

    Link here (thank you GoNintendo)

Pretty good article for those who are interested in Nintendo's long absent (not counting the 3DS Port/Remake) shooter series. Did you also know that this year also marks the series 20th anniversary?

I don't think Nintendo will do something as it isn't that big of a series to them, but... (you know what, f*** it, this negativity over some of this stuff isn't helping) we can hope right?

Eh, I don't know. It's kind of weird to have a reboot of a game series without the main cast. That's just me though.

wouldint be more a sequel since it would be in the same conuity. Also you get brand new characters and the old unless some are killed or something and heck even falco as the wise old man seems pretty cool.

Or they might reboot it in the sense of the events before and after Star Fox Adventures never happening.

I's love to see a successor to Star fox 64 on Wii U, with some real care put into it.  Star fox 64, and Star fox adventures are the only good Star fox games.  I don't really count the one on Snes since it's made obsolete by SF 64.

The series hasn't been long absent (People have short attention spans) Star Fox Command was basically the cancelled Star Fox 2 released on the DS and it was created by many of the people worked on Star Fox and Star Fox 64. Star Fox Command was released in 2006 which is still this generation.

It would be nice to see a new game, especially when the pickings are pretty thin right now.

    Flameshield activated

I wouldn't mind seeing something like Ratchet and Clank (which would basically be star fox assault 2) infact i would prefer it to a game that only had flying levels. then again i'm not really a starfox fan.

Metroid wasn't on N64, but made a good comeback to home consoles on GCN! For Star Fox to succeed it needs more than just vehicle missions IMO, needs some on foot sections.

I'd consider myself quite a fan, and I agree with you. If on-foot was done well, with weapons that were fun, it could be an absolutely awesome game. I'm not ignoring the flying levels, I believe that there should definitely be on-rails Arwing missions, because those are awesome, but I believe that the game should also mix up the formula a little. SF Assault had some quite awesome weapons which, yes, needed more balancing, but they were still quite good. The ability to go from vehicle to on-foot and back to vehicle was awesome.

Basically imagine a Star Fox game, that's story doesn't suck, 4 player co-op (how has this not been done yet?) on-foot controls like uncharted, flying controls like either Halo Reach's flying level or Halo 4's last level, more vehicles to be introduced and a multiplayer aspect.

The way that Command treated story made me so angry. There were 8 abysmal endings and 1 okay-but-not-great ending. Gameplay was entertaining but the story and the characters felt completely wrong.

i'll say, i think assault got too much flack, it's actually a pretty nice game and i'd like to see its gameplay developed into a more solid product.
