Additional information about your setup is required. What kind of internet connection do you have? Do you have a router? Is it wireless? How are you connecting your PS3 to your home network (wired or wireless)? Are you able to connect succesfully to your wireless network? Is your PS3 directly connected to your router via cable? Are you connecting your PS3 directly to your Cable or DSL modem? How do the other computers and devices in your home connect?
It sounds like you are either physically not connected to the network or you are unable to pull an IP address from your DHCP server.

-----------

What the other poster said, is it directly connected to your modem or through a router etc?
You can also try to manually put it in.

^ triple post wtf lol? c-c-c-combo breaker? one thing i've noticed is that generally wireless connections on the ps3 aren't too strong. but still, if you have a good connection it still works perfectly. im on wireless and my connection is flawless. wait, so you're saying you used another ps3 on your connection and it worked but your ps3 didn't? that's strange. id say check your ps3's network settings then and maybe your internet connection settings as well. make sure there isn't any firewalls or none of that stuff. or maybe try and reset your whole ps3 and start from scratch. there shouldn't be any reason that another one works on your connection, and your ps3 doesn't. check your network settings you're probably just overlooking something.
