Bad/annoying parts of good games.

I'm currently playing through the first Breath of Fire and having a good time... Until I hit the World of Dreams. This part of the game is terrible. In the tower and gas field it is literally trial and error whether you can move forward, back, left or right for whole dungeons. Anyone else come across black eyes on otherwise great games?- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

Many people mistakenly believe that whatever is normal or common is healthy, and whatever is different/abnormal is unhealthy. Altruism is by consensus healthy simply because it is normal, when in reality it is an irrational and destructive mental illness. The characteristics of sociopathy are mostly healthy and rational but people who exhibit them are considered deranged anyways because they contradict the social norm. The "Escape!" level in the original Thief: The Dark Project and Thief: Gold.

the tower section of MGS1 , the first tower to be specific, since it forces you to rely on combat , in a very small space, in a game thats not built for alot of combat.

The Sniper Wolf battle in Metal Gear Solid. You have to go back to the beginning in the game to get a Sniper Rifle then come back to fight her.

one that comes to mind is the racing mission "Farewell My Love" from GTA San Anfreas. You were given a car with terrible handling and you had to race a really long course in the hills which was full of dangerous turns and cliffs , not to mention that after a few crashes your car would explode. I remember using cheats in this mission in my first playthrough of the game- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

that level in the original HALO where you have to follow that annoying blue orb thing through the same hallway re-used 500 times. every time you think you're done, you just get to an elevator that takes you a level up to another series of that same goddamned hallway. worst. level. of any game. ever.

I'm gonna be that guy and say the Water Temple from OoT. Wasn't "challenging", just really tedious an filled with unecessary back tracking. Also, the Metal Gear RAY fight from MGS2... Along with the fight against Vamp in the square room... Both really annoying and tedious boss fights in a game that, while flawed, is still pretty enjoyable.

While I'm not to this part yet, I hear everyone hates the triforce fetch quest in Wind Waker.
For me it's the first 10-15 levels of my character in any Elder Scrolls game.. feels like I suck no matter what, then once I break that level range it's all awesome.

Now Playing: Final Fantasy XII, Shadow Hearts, Secret of Mana
My 100 favorite songs of All Time. And because I ran out of blog post space, here's the second part of the list.
Recent Reviews: Mother 3, Final Fantasy VII, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4.

The last boss of Star Ocean: The Second Story. He's such a cheap mofo. His first form is easy, but his second form is so fast it is downright unfair. He'll do a devastating spell, and your health will be shaved down quite a bit, but you'll be able to recover. However, just when you think you're in the clear, he'll do another devastating spell not even a full second later. It is maddening. It probably took me twenty-something tries to beat that boss. Good thing I had bunny shoes to make me super fast. I don't see how he can be beaten without them.
