The new Tomb Raider isn't Tomb Raider. So, if you played the new one, you still would not have played Tomb Raider.

Hopefully there is downloadable DLC for a character skin, so that you can play as Lara Croft!

I was at first but after hearing some not neccasarily bad things but questionable things, (multiplayer, etc) I'm a little skeptical. I'll look some walkthrough videos on youtube if the game is to my liking.

PS3 to me feel way underpowered. Most multiplats especially look terrible, no AA, low resolution, weak framerates. You can tell the GPU is really struggling to put out a decent picture. Even games everybody raves about (KZ3, MGS4, UC, etc) look terrible other than the cutscenes. Like PC graphics from 15 years ago.

The new TR isn't Tomb Raider, and the new character is NOT Lara Croft. I should know, I played the original Tomb Raiders back on PS1. Did you?

Yeah. Tomb Raider was the first I got for PS1 as kid...I remember the first time the T-Rex came out nowhere and ate me! I can remember assaulting her butler in mansion in Tomber Raider II I think it was...good times and this new game is Tomb Raider: Lara Croft as well.

Well, if you think this new game and character are Tomb Raider and Lara Croft, then it is clear as day that you have never played Tomb Raider before and have no freaking clue what you are talking about.

This game should be titled: 'Rambo Croft: First Blood', since this new game has nothing to do with Tomb Raider.

So, it dawned on me just now, I was thinking about how this new Tomb Raider seems to lack most if not all supernatural elements and instead is going for realism (plague of modern video games).

I then thought of the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy and how boring they are (excluding second one) because they are more realistic and lacking the superhero-ness and fantasy elements which Batman series is supposed to have. The problem with letting go of the magic and going toward realism is that it kills the fun and enjoyment. Video games are escapism and it kills the point of them when they're semi-realistic. Real life is boring, so I'd much rather video games and movies steer clear of normal boring life.

This new 'Lauren Craft' game looks like a third person view version of Cabella's Dangerous Hunts.

Yeah I pulled those details about the early games out of my ass huh? There were 2 or 3 bad guys in first game where you had kill them to to get access to new weapons like an duel uzis. Plus there was a cheat code to get those guns early.

You mad that some who plays game back then disagrees with you? I have been gaming for over 20 years boy. All the way back to the original NES as far  asI can remember. Mario, Zelda, Mike Tyson's Punchout with the glove.

I am happy that gaming has progressed so far. You can still play that old sh!t if you want to...

And yeah LARA CROFT does act like Rambo at times i the new game...and I love it.

It has not been confirmed (ie spoiled yet), but there is strong possibility of supernatural elements and non-human enemies in this game. You would know these things if you did some research.

Actually, it's been pretty much confirmed already. If you watch the survivor trailer that I posted, you'll see a non-human enemy (in the form of an ancient warrior monster thingy of some sort) who chases Lara and a few of the villians.

I have watched every related to the new TR included both Survivor trailers, but I must have missed it. I saw of sketch of that monster so I figured they would show up though. So yeah now it is confirmed.

Also Lara does all types of cool platforming in this game. The arrow-rope mechanic looks great for combat and exploring. Same thing with climbing axe. This game has so many layers.

Ha, I missed it at first, too. It all goes by so fast. But yeah, there's definitely supernatural themes. Towards the end of the trailer, did you see some of the villians dressed in robes gathering around a giant statue, and doing a chant? After which, that creature showed up (it sort of looks like the one from the first tomb raider movie).

The platforming seems to resemble prince of persia now which, to be honest, isn't too bad. I'm pretty sure you still have to align your jumps accordingly or else Lara will fall to her demise. So I'm glad about that.

And the rope-arrow thing looks awesome. ^_^

I played the original and TR 2 for the PS1 way back when it was new during my high school days. I got TRIII but it wasn't as good and felt glitchy. I haven't played a TR game since but am really excited about this one. I like the new, more human Lara as compared to the old one. I already have mine on pre-order from Amazon, the collector's edition.

I played all the "original" games, and I've played the Crystal Dynamics' re-boots (which I absolutely LOVED, more than the PS "originals"), and this doesn't look like anything radical in terms of design, writing, or scope. I think it will make a fine addition to the game franchise's lineage! Can't wait to play it for myself, and formulate my own opinions. Lara looks like I would expect her to look in her late teens, I don't see how she has been done a wrong in the character model... Little boys who have fantasies about women with mountainous breasts being the only thing a woman should look like, in order to be classified as "sexy" or correct, need to relax their sphincters..

... At least enough to let their head out of their ass.

I think the character model looks awesome, and I can already see the emotional impact this revision will have on me as a player... I think the vulnerability will translate to my caring more, if that makes sense, about her well-being throughout the game. If anything could be called "Lara RAMBO", it would be the "original" games...
