Do you tend to make weak ones powerful or make the powerful more powerful in rpg
- Feb 5, 2013 11:51 pm GMTI intend to make weak powerful only if its going to be worthy, for e.g. I am playing suikoden 5 right and there are a lot of good characters to choose from but if I make a seemingly weak character like lu powerful via power rune or stat enhancing stuff I would do so since lu can multihit and that's a good thing. otherwise its better to make someone like zegai even more powerful. I hate magicians so do not bother with them unless the rpg are few characters to play with.

In such a case it would be nearly impossible to power through such a situation in which the power of your powerful powermongering enemy was equal too or perhaps greater than the power of your powerful powerseeking hero.

I tend to play as a mage because casting a large variety of spells is more fun than button mashing with some guy who fights with a sword. As far as which is more powerful, it's kind of the developer's responsibility to keep the classes somewhat balanced.

Usually tend to balance everyone out, what is a weak one hit victim in your party good for?
Maybe they might still be weaker than the "stronger" characters, but that 4, 5 extra hits more they can take or the 4 - 5 extra attacks / spells they can pull off can turn the tide of a hard battle entirely when everyone is balanced.
Opposed to that when you make the strong ones stronger, most of the time it's warriors who're the powerful ones in RPG's so having only a spearhead of warriors but no support on their back they'll lie flat on the ground in a red pool in 30 seconds straight.- Please wait. Now Playing: Persona 4 Golden l Fire Emblem 6 l Persona 3 Portable
Backlog: Fire Emblem 6 l Legend of Zelda OoT 3D l Dawn of War: Dark Crusade
Most Anticipated: Total War: Rome II l GTA V l Pokemon XY
Season Finale on May 1I just use whoever I think is the sexiest. Like Valkyria Chronicles. I never use male squadmates once I have enough female squadmates.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.
- Both really. I like to really level up my characters to make them all powerful and so that they are all on par with each other.

Well. That was fun.

The only way bad games will go away is if nobody buys them. Speak with your wallet not your mouth."Religion is an illusion and it derives its strength from the fact that it falls in with our instinctual desires." -Sigmund Freud
"It took all the man in me to be the thug you wanted me to be." -Massive Attack (Atlas Air)
Let's take Pokemon as an example.
Weedle > Kakuna > Beedrill. At level 10 you have a fully evolved monster that's going to stand head and shoulders above the game at early levels. Later, Beedrill is going to let you down. A lot.
Now let's look at Magikarp. You're going to suffer through the first few parts of the game with a $#1* Pokemon. Then at level 20 he becomes a killing machine and a powerhouse for the remainder of the game.
It's not that cut and dry for a lot of RPG's but there are times when you can pretty much tell when a person is going to be worthless or awesome depending on their fighting abilities and stats.
