In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation cant come quickly enough. Peter hasnt forgotten about the promise he made to Gwens father to protect her by staying away but thats a promise he just cant keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are the producers.

Jamie Foxx as Electro? I dunno about that one. Also, Gwenn Stacy has to die of course, but no way should it be Electro who kills her. That's just lame.

So long as it's as good or better than the first, I'll be first in line to see it. MUCH preferred that one movie to the entire Raimi trilogy.

She doesnt *has* to die because the movie is not following the original comic cannon, like the previous movie saga.

it's just based on it, it's not meant to be 100% accurate.

Spider-Man 3 absolutely destroyed Venom. That alone is grounds for dismissing the entire trilogy.

When you specifically have Gwen Stacy instead of Mary Jane as the love interest, she has to die. Her death was one of Spider-Man's most important moments. If they have her as a character, but don't kill her it'll just be a cookie-cutter love interest who adds nothing to the story. Watching Spider-Man fail to protect her is really the only reason to have her in this new series of films, otherwise it's just a waste.

Agreed, the trilogy was just terrible because it butchered what the comics were about.
