Okay gamespot so yeah basically why did you guys post pics of alien ware aura on the frontpage feedbackula thingy and next gen rumours one ,but is there a reason for this? I mean if this was another websites then I would understand but this is a gamers website most people here know there are better alternatives to Alienware such as building your own and other websites for prebuilts.
Is there a reason for you guys to be adding pics of Alienwares?I am not trying to start a war or anything thanks sorry for my bad grammer english is my 2nd language.
They're pretty much the only gaming PC "brand" that can be used again and again because their designs are similar. Add that to the fact that they're literally the biggest ripoff this side of Apple, and it's easy to see why the console-loving GS likes it.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

Why cant they put pics of a coolermaster Haf X or something.
Gamespot has a good taste in computers.

Alienware has more mass appeal. Not many people build their own computers. Alienware is a really recognizable name, people would get more interested in pc gaming because of that. Alienware also makes it more interesting for non pc gamers, so they will read the article. This isnt some website like toms hardware, go there if you want articles with custom computers in them. Gamespot appeals to people like me who dont care where I get my pc from.

I wasn't responsible for the graphics in question, but I don't think the use of an Alienware rig as opposed to any other brand was really deliberate. If I had to guess, the designer probably just wanted an image of a somewhat cool-looking PC tower and that was what we had.
On a personal note, the Alienware that I purchased for myself about five years ago caused me so many problems that--after stripping it for parts worth keeping--I left it out in the street when I moved out of my apartment. (That's not an uncommon practise here, by the way; it was claimed by a passer-by within minutes.) I should've known the computer was going to be trouble when, after ordering it with a black case, and despite it arriving with several documents supposedly signed by folks on the production line who had inspected it, the case I got was the wrong color. Alienware told me I was welcome to return it to them to get it changed, but at that point I had already waited far longer than expected to get my hands on it and just stuck with it. (Thankfully the case I got was silver and not one of the bright blue or green options they were offering at the time.)- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.
While I wouldn't say we "always" use pictures of Alienware computers, in this case we just wanted to use an instantly recognisable brand to represent PC. We could have used a generic tower case, or something along those lines, but I don't think it would had quite the same impact. :)

Mark is pretty much bang on with his answer, but I just wanted to weigh in as I make Feedbackula each week. I can assure you I don't have any pro-alienware bias. I'm actually building my first gaming PC at the minute, having pestered Mark into helping me decide which bits fit my budget best. Anyway, hope we've managed to answer your query!
