    >Not many Tactical shooters out but I always heard Ghost Recon is the new rainbow six for years, but haven't picked up a game in that series. So, what I would like to know is that is it all cracked up to be what may say?

    >I never really has interest in the series, I watched a gameplay video of the one on the Wii and it looked pretty boring with most of the game just turning invisible and killing people from behind.

It depends. I liked the game, there are points where it can become repetitive and if you like run and gun stuff this is not for you. Alot of these games now a days are basically the same, run shoot and hide and rinse repeat. If you wanna try the game, just rent it.

Like the last poster said most FPS games are similar in that they are run and gun, die a bunch, kill a bunch, rinse and repeat.  Ghost Recon series has been around for a while so they do have some name recognition and generally do put time into their games.   You can try Ghost Recon Online if you're looking for a free option to try out the Ghost Recon series.

GRAW and its sequel are the most tactical you'll get with that series now.

    @ sukraj

Then why bother typing in such thread?

    To OP.

If you like anykind of tactical element and planning on what to do next and not all blindfiring, then i suggest like some one already did, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter series. You don't go all rambo in this, as in fact, you will die by three shots and there is no way to restore any health in middle of a mission.

He is still entitled to his opinion. Granted, maybe it would have been better to explain why he doesn't like GR...but thats just my opinion.

I personally think the series as a whole is good. Not great. Not horrible. I remember playing the very first one that came out. The first thing that disappointed me was that even though it was a first person... it always seemed as if you were only looking through the scope of the soldier rather like most where you can see the weapon. Even DOOM showed you the weapon! The stories always felt like a gamble. You either were going to get a well written story or a half-butt version thrown together. I liked Ghost Recon: Future Soldier because of what it allowed you to do. Did the story engage me? No. It was still interesting and I enjoyed it but it never held my attention.

If you like Tom Clancey games, I would suggest Rainbow Six... more towards Rainbow Six: Las Vegas. Even the Rainbow Six: Patriots looks awesome!
