System Wars is a one of a kind destination where gamers can discuss, rant, and debate about systems, platforms, handhelds and the games. Not many people survive System Wars. The mightiest system warriors back up their arguments with facts.

Rules are simple:
- Read the Terms of Use and System Wars Survival Guide.
- Must be Level 10 or higher to create topics.
- Keep your discussions around what belongs here: platforms, games, developers, publishers, and stats.
- Don't quote more than one image in your post.
- Do NOT post or bump extremely abusive discussions (adult material/illegal activities/illegal advertising/etc).

The Main Reason why Tomb Raider is not going on WiiU.

Ninja Gaiden 3 was on the Top Played list for awhile on Miiverse.

well the themes are a little different one dealing with blood the other dealing with something more real life ... like i said if Nintendo wanted it they could get it on the system just like they got NG3 and Bayonetta 2

Looks like the 3rd parties have already decided to ignore the system...

Can't say I care for Tomb Raider, tho, as I never did like the series and this new entry looks to be filled with tons of QTEs and "on-rails" gameplay.

But if they made a new Legacy of Kain game, it would be a loss for WiiU-only owners. (if there are any)

Yeah, man. It's not like Nintendo went out of the way to get Bayonetta 2 on the Wii-U, or Resident Evil 4 was one of the best-selling games on the Gamecube, or anything like that. Nintendo sure does hate having dem mature games on its consoles.

Probably a good call, it doesn't have mario or zelda in the title so wouldn't sell.

Oh, man. Doing stuff on the tablet must be so hard.

    Are you a game designer?
Because adding off-screen play would take so much time, right? That's literally all they would have to do. Maybe give the player the ability to use the touchpad to tweak settings ala Arkham City. It really doesn't seem that hard. If you don't wanna port it just say it.
Actually Off Screen play is the default thing the controller does if they don't want to do anything by default the game would automatically stream whatever is on TV to the gamepad screen.

Let's be honest here, they're not making Tomb Raider for the Wii U because finanically it wouldn't benefit the company.

Western third parties have already written it off, there's nothing Nintendo can do on that front.
Japanese third party developers could still be won over though.

It does if the sales don't cover the expenses of porting it over.

They could just do a straight port and ignore the new interface entirely. It *is* a traditional gamepad.

    Shocker...not.

GTA5 is the multiplat that I am looking at to decide the 3rd party fate of the WiiU.

As of now I think this will be the Gamecube and Wii all over again since the WiiU is already missing out on PS3/360 games.

Gee....I might care a lot if it wasn't for the fact that I have a PS3, 360, and PC, and not a Wii U.

Wii U is just going to turn into another Wii within about a year and a half. After the true next gen consoles come out, developers aren't going to bother porting to the Wii U, just as the Wii got screwed on games a year or two after it's released, and just consisted of a couple third-party games, shovel ware, and Nintendo games.

It just seems like devs are not comfortable with the platform yet, give it time. A lot of devs had problems with the PS3 when it launched too remember? Generally speaking, the first system that comes out is the one the devs get the most comfortable with, for obvious reasons.

    this.

companies port games to the pc without even giving us graphics options. skipping any support for the controller interface doesn't seem nearly as bad.

As a Wii U owner who really wanted to play the new Tomb Raider it sounds like a bogus excuse to me. If I had the option of playing the game on the Wii U with a blank Gamepad screen (i.e. they did NOTHING AT ALL with it) versus not having it at all I would take it with the blank screen. Outside of the touchscreen the Gamepad functions just like a normal controller and there is always the Pro Controller.

It grieves thems more to own a bad house than a bad life, as if it were man's greatest good to have everything good but himself."
