How To: Pick the Right Desktop PC or Laptop

    header11.jpg

I wrote this piece after getting asked by friends and family over and over on the questions. What to buy? When to buy? DIY or OEM. The idea for the article is to bridge the gap between technical details and layman terms. Covers DIY and OEM desktops. Also, laptops.

    • Understand your usage/needs
    • 7 key components explained
    • DIY vs. OEM
    • Which brand?
    • Recommended setups
    • When to buy?

How To: Pick the Right Desktop PC or Laptop

Hope the post is useful. When people ask me again, I just point them over and save my time repeating the same things over and over.

Let me know if there's anything I should do to improve it. Huge knowledge base in this forum.

Not bad. I couple of corrections I would make, one being in the monitor section, you should mention the different panel types, and their advantages/disadvantages.

The above information is absolutely, 100% true. Unless you prove it to be false, and then in that case, I really don't care.
