Ok so i know what you are all thinking "why is he just playing a game that has been out over a year". Well, the answer to that is simple. I took a bit of a break from gaming, and just recently started back up again. I just beat Uncharted 2 in 2 sit downs (Normal Difficulty). I decided to give this a try because I did quite enjoy the first Uncharted. The downside is that I was kind of expecting the play through to take much longer, don't get me wrong i did enjoy the time it took, but still. Does anyone else feel that the game was too easy or just way too short?

I beat all of the Uncharted games in 2 days, but they were all a lot of fun. Kinda like taking an active part in an Indiana Jones movie... story, acting, music, graphics, etc all excellent. The 2nd one was my favorite of the three.

Most games in this era are the same length... like Bioshock games, Dead Space games, God of War, etc. Only real exceptions are Bethesda games, Rockstar games, or people that make riffs on their games. And I guess Dark Souls took me close to a week the first time through.

I think it's just the way games are these days. There's so much graphics detail and crazy sound and stuff that it takes hundreds of people a few years to make something that you play for like two days, but it can be an awesome two days that's worth the $60.

It wasn't too easy or too short for me.

Turn the difficulty up and that won't make it too easy. I found that UC1, UC2 and UC3 to all be pretty much around the same in terms of hours to compete in single player.

yea ..too many hints in uncharted 2....you can turn them off in the options though so that gives slight more challange...but didnt realize this option until i was halfway through.

Yeah, Same, it gave you like 2 minutes to figure out what to do then gave the hint.

This is GameSpot, not EA, noone thinks that here

And to answer your questions, I found it neither too short nor to easy, some parts required several tries for me before I got the hang of it.

    Slight Spoiler following:

Also, when I arrived the train scene "for real" I thought "Ok, guess now I'm close to the end of the game" only to find out, it actually had just started.

    Spoiler ends here

Rarely has In Medias Res worked so well in a game in my opinion. Maybe you're just not used anymore to games that do NOT sell themself out with lengthy, pointless DLC because everything that SHOULD be included in a game indeed IS included in it, at least in terms of Singleplayer ^^

All of the uncharted games are about the same length. I would love to see it little longer as well but overall the game is the best in the series.

Wasn't it just over 10 hours long or something? That's pretty much the perfect length for a game like that. As for beating it in 2 days, it generally takes me 2-3 weeks to beat a game that long haha. I always start on hard mode so I thought the difficulty was fine.

True, it has been a long time since I have played this style game. I dunno I guess I was just expecting more out of certain parts of the game, Don't get me wrong, I highly enjoyed the game, enough that I am going to be buying the third installment.

I found it to be a perfect fit not to short or long just right and the difficultly was fair.

for me, they feel like they're meant to be played on the hard difficulty. length is fine, too.

I thought the second one was perfect in length and difficulty on hard your there for the story more than how you play but the way I came around to liking the third was to play all of them as one big game and then your sorted for length

I'm pretty sure Uncharted 2 is the lengthiest of them all, though there's quite a lot of cut scenes, some of which are pretty long. But a fantastic game overall of course. In terms of difficulty, I'm embarrassed to admit that it kicked my ass the first time I played it... which was on easy. I eventually got over myself and have beaten them all on Crushing. Hard difficulty is probably the most enjoyable to play those games are once you're used to them and everything.

In terms of chapters in the game, I'm pretty sure UC3 has the most.

No. The single player campaigns offer excellent storytelling that is perfectly paced and mixed with action and puzzles. 7 hours is what I'd expect, and it delivers non-stop entertainment. If you want a challenge try crushing.

Perfect length and difficulty (on hard or crushing), IMO. Any longer and the game's perfect pacing (blend of story and gameplay) would have been compromised.

Go get the Plat trophy. You'll enjoy doing that, it makes the game more difficult & take longer.
