Here's what I am thinking about buying. Mind you that this is my first PC gaming build. I'm not looking for the highest end graphics on me PC. I am looking to run Guild Wars 2, Skyrim, and games of that nature, well. Please provide some feedback on what I have chosen.

    CPU:Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz LGA 1155 Processor(189.99)
    Motherboard:ASRock Z77 Pro4 LGA 1155 ATX Intel Motherboard(69.99 after combo discount)
    Memory:Wintec One 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory($34.99 @ Newegg)
    Storage:Western Digital Caviar Green 1.5TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive($74.99 @ Amazon)
    Video Card:HIS Radeon HD 7870 2GB Video Card($209.99 @ Newegg)
    Power Supply:Corsair Builder 430W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply($24.99 @ Newegg)
    Optical Drive:Samsung SH-224BB DVD/CD Writer($15.99 @ Newegg)

Case:Zalman Z9 ATX Mid Tower Computer Case($31.99 after rebate)

My budget is to land around $800

thats why they dont need the memory PS3 has a little something something called Blu-Ray. and its 25 times the size of a petty 2gb SD RAM

Are you planning to overclock or crossfire anytime soon? If not, that PSU will work fine for now. The 7870 and Ivy Bridge don't use very much power...

One of the best shows on tv is.. a cartoon?

Nice build however you should get a 600 or above PSU just in case get corsair but don't get the builder series.
A WD. Caviar green is one of the slowest get a seagate barracuda or WD caviar black
Get a better case maybe a haf 912
If these changes go above your budget then dumb down your video card to a 7850 or a 7770 you can easily upgrade later

He will barely use over 400W of power, why buy a 600W PSU? A decent 450W to 500W will do as good as any 600W.

He wouldn't even use that much really. At stock speeds, his max power consumption will be about 250w...

You'd want nvidia if you use cuda or gpu-accelerated physx.

True, but doing Arkham City physx high on the cpu can take you from 100+ fps to below 20. Physx normal and other games may be playable, though.
