A few years ago I was at a friends house and we watched avatar on his new tv. The picture looked unbelievable, like you were looking through a window, the motion, clarity, and colors were just amazing. I was wondering if the plasma tvs produce more of a lifelike image compared to LEDS/LCDS. I would ask them but i havent talked to them in years.I Have had my eye on the panasonic st50,but i would like to get that same image quality, thanks!

Yes, plasmas do have a better picture presentation than LCD's. It's very apparent if you go to a store where they have TV's up and running for display so you can compare.

Seeing Avatar on a VT25 display was a big part of what convinced me to buy mine. I recommend the ST50. You'll get what you're looking for.

i've had that same moment walking through the sony store! Plasmas do produce pretty sharp images, but those new quad-pixel color lcd/led tv's look pretty sharp too.

ur looking for a 120hz or 240hz lcd or led hdtv. they have a effect that makes u think ur watching a movie live out of your window and the actors are doing the movie in ur back yard.plasma tv dont do that. plasi have friends with plasmas and i been buying a tv each year to fill all my rooms with one. and i cant seem to bring my self to buy a plasma.plasmas are just like the old boobtube tvs without the fuzz. nothing wrong with that but i rather have a real hdtv and plazma dont offer that wow factor imo

what kind of led lcd tvs do you have? yeah the only reason i considered a plasma is because of the ratings on amazon and cnet which rated it the best picture of 2012

It probably was a plasma, to me the plasmas are better all around, especially the newer models.

    Specs: I7920 @3.7 GHZ, Gigabyte 5870 SOC/OC CrossfireX, 6GB Patriot Viper2 Sector 7, Corsair 850tx, 2x ultra laze, 1TB HD. XBOX360 slim 48GB flash PNY/Kingston

i have had all brands of lcds. first ever was back in 07 when i bought a no name tv called Astar. 27` 1080i. had it for 3 years and i neighbor bought it for almost what i paid for it so i couldnt pass it up. then i bought a magnavox 47` 1080p great picture no blur or lag used to play mw2 all the time on both ps3 and 360 on it. but after 2 years it died! used my warrenty and got it fixed for free but 6 months later it broke again and i got screwed then i bought a 40` top name samsung 240hz 1080 p. perfect so far. then i bought a 32` 1080p panisonic lcd. nice picture but now have two deads pixels u cant really see them unless the screen is black. last year i bought a 42` 120hz 3dhdtv vizio pasive 3d . i liked it it alot and am looking for a bigger passive 3d tv this year for the living room. i was probably a little harsh on my comments about plasma. but i really dont see why all the guys at cnet go nuts over them.
