I had one bad one the other day , and my face and hand went numb. Plus it made me feel horrible the rest of the day gave me bad pains and drained my energy out. It was the worst one I had in like a year or so. Has anyone on here ever had one?

Panic attacks are self-actualizing. If you stop to think about it you're often panicking at having a panic attack. Realize that and you've earned a good bit of control.

When they do strike, don't just sit around waiting for it to pass. Do something physical to get rid of all that extra energy, because more than anything that's what a panic attack is: energy. Walk, jog, run, sprint, whatever you feel you have to do. Wear yourself out.

It's usually not a conscious concern that triggers it. Imagine just sitting around doing your normal $hit and then 'fight or flight' kicks in 100% and out of nowhere. It's quite disconcerting to lose control of oneself like that.

Had a panic attack once and blacked out in the bathroom with my head in the sink for a minute or two (actually not sure how long). Woke up drooling and drowzy (but not because I was tired.) It's pretty scary.

Won't tell you why though, cause it's personal.

Mine is worrying about something. When they strike is at night or a place I can't run. Like a car, or bus or something like that man!

Then the easy answer is: don't worry about it.

By my age its pretty much clear that $hit usually blows over in the end. Yeah, some of it is life-changing and not always for the better, sometimes it sucks and sometimes it drags on forever, but $hit usually blows over in the end.

Does anyone else here have panic attacks in their sleep? Those are my least favorite.

Mine was triggered by worrying. Be careful, if you're in a car I'd definitely pull over and wait it out.

    Yes. They're fvcking awful.

My first one happened when I was 10. I thought that I was going to be made to live in a foster home.

I've been through personal loss, divorce, abuse, bullying, financial trouble, medical drama, etc...what doesn't go away you learn to deal with.

What used to worry me awake at night 20 years ago just makes me grunt and shrug my shoulders now. If I can do something about it, I get right on it. If I can't, then I don't worry myself over it. It is what it is.

Wanna know why old people are happier? They've learned to just let $hit roll.
