FC3 has won the people's choice 2012 awards on GS.It had a hard fight against the controversial ME3.

From everything I've heard, Far Cry 3 sounds like a great game and worthy of GOTY awards. I didn't play it, so I cannot comment on its quality. My personal vote was Mass Effect 3, however, because I did play it and I had a great time with it. It was certainly worthy to win the award as well. Both games were good, and the vote was close. Everything a GOTY awards vote should be.

Far Cry 3 is definitely my favorite game this year, it was just one of my favorite games this gen really. Just the immersion in how you're in control of Jason from start to finish, plus the utter freedom, beauty and psychedelic story.
It's great, ME3 was great too, but I think FC3 has much better design in the gameplay and polish.
