How do I report a Gamespot moderator?
- Dec 17, 2012 6:18 pm GMT
While I understand moderators have a job to do on Gamespot, they also have the same posting privaleges of a normal forum user.
In a thread about animal cruelty, which I felt was posted with the upmost senserity and seriousness on the subject of animal cruelty, I felt that one moderators post amounted to mere trolling and no more. There was no counter argument. There was no room for open discussion. The post seemed to have been made only to agrovate a group of people.
I reported the post and three days later recieved a follow up moderation for (and I quote) "Reason for moderation:repoting a moderator".
Assuming that Gamespot uses a spellchecking system I assume that "repoting" a moderator isn't in itself a conventional moderation. Unless moderators are allowed to post outside of the Terms of Service and it is in fact a moderatable offence to report on a Gamespot moderator which I find hard to believe considering that Gamespot is a buisness and not an ameture forum.
At the very least I don't think that my report amounts to abuse of the moderation system and if it was then I should have been reported for that instead. If Gamespot moderators disagreed on my reporting of agrovated trolling then they are free to use their disgression whether a post is been made by a moderator, paying member or basic user. I see no difference whether it is a moderator or not.
In the future how should I go about reporting a moderator? Who should I PM?
