I download a lot of games from the ps store and playstation plus has attracted my attention. And I own both a ps3 and a vita...but I only have 8 gigs on my vita and 68 on my ps3...Should I still invest in plus?

From what I hear it's pretty painless. Lots of How-To vids on YouTube. Make sure you buy a compatible drive, and think it's pretty much swap it out, reconnect the cable, and you're golden.

If you spend a bunch of money on PSN games in a year, I think it probably is a service you can enjoy. I don't spend any money on DLC or games, so personally it doesn't work... But you sound like you could make some use of the service. You're DEFINITELY going to need more HDD, unless you don't mind uninstalling and re-installing games that aren't in use.

    HA! Testify...

... But that means that at the heart of it, you give all you can to those you love. Wear your (hopefully temporary) poverty like a badge.

EDIT: Just be SURE to research the proper drive to purchase, perhaps others here can be of help with that info. There are some which don't work for this purpose. The YouTube vids might also describe the specifics of what you need to buy... Good Gaming to you!

I don't know if PS Plus is for you, but I'll tell you that out of 49 people on my friends list, only one of them has it. (it puts a Plus icon by their username)

You'll need to buy a 2.5" HDD drive, the kind typically used in laptops. I think they come all the way up to a TB. You might consider one like I did.

You'll also need an external hard drive or flash drive to back up your current data while you make the swap. The Ps3 has a backup/restore tool in settings for this.

get all the games when they are on plus, just install the game you want to play and remove before going for another one. Dont see any point of installing all the game when you are not playing all of them.

Someone like you might have more reason to buy a subscription than people who buy a lot of PSN games. You won't own any of the free* PSN games unless you have them for PC or a different console. The discounts might tempt you to finally buy something on PSN too.

Don't know you well enough for me to make that call. It isn't worth it to me. I get games cheaper elsewhere even when you factor it the ps+ discounts (which aren't discounts considering I had to pay $50 before I can even use those discounts). The free games aren't free, they are rentals. Don't believe me? Stop your subscription and see if you can still play those "free" games.

You don't actually need to download any of the games you know. Just 'checkout' the game and once it appears on your download list, you don't need to download it straight away. It will be there forever and once you are running out of gigs you can just swap them out so long as you have a sub.

    Currently Playing;

    Team Fortress 2

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

    Jetpack Joyride

    FIFA 12

Yes, but probably only worth it with a 1TB HDD

The memory you have is fine. You'll have the games so long as you checkout with them, you don't need to download until you're ready to play them.

I don't follow your train of thought... If I don't spend money on PSN because I'm not interested in most DL games on the store, and I'm not interested in DLC, not to mention staunchly against DDL copy of anything available on a disc, how am I more likely to get value out of paying Sony more money for a service I use sparingly in the first place?

I would rather, for instance, pay $7.99 at GameStop for a used copy of "RE5 Gold Edition" (which is exaclty what I got it for), than to download it for, as you put it, "free*" and paying for what amounts to a rental which eats up my HDD and I can never ACTUALLY own. I can loan that disc to my nephew, I can play the game 15 years from now (as I do with games on my Dreamcast), or I can use it for target practice after using it as a drink coaster. I will get MORE than $7.99 worth out of the game regardless of what I do with it.

I'm not an impulse buyer. I purchase what I've researched and confirmed as something which interests me... I have only purchased 3 games in my PS3 library before a price drop to a MINIMUM of $20, most I wait for the below-$15 mark, most are used. For me personally (and this is JUST ME), I think the service is a rip-off and bait for less-saavy shoppers... Not once have they offered a game (DDL copy) at a price which I couldn't beat by going to GameStop or my local Mom'n'Pop resale. "RE: ORC" is $20 on PSN, but at my M'n'P, I picked it up for $6!

Not everyone has such a fantastic place available, I know... But to me, PSN pricing is absurd on 99% of the menu, EVEN with Plus-Member discounts. And games like "Journey", or "Walking Dead", are out on disc now, and cheaper, more permanent, etc. than downloading it off PSN. Other "free" perks like avatars & wallpapers? Who needs that tripe?

So believe me, I've thought this one through. And Plus just ain't for me. If it works for you, I say, party on. But I'll keep my $50 a year, and put it towards 3 games when they hit my price range... And EVERY game hits that price range (and lower) eventually. I have a huge backlog of games for my PS3 and other systems to keep me busy until they do, I'm in no hurry. And those games will be just as good several years from now as they are today.

Patience is a game which everyone could do with playing, when it comes to this hobby.
