I think people want to enjoy the forums so I think it would make more sense to make it fun than intimidating. Since I've joined this year somehow for no reason I have inadvertently managed to get two warnings which frankly I thought were stupid. Apparently one thread was supposedly closed but yet it wasn't closed because if it had been I wouldn't have been able to post in it right? All I did was post a comment and got a warning for "bumping" the thread. Every time I write a good post that expresses my opinion it's always shut down because it's "n the wrong spot". seriously just lighten up and maybe reduce the obscure categories and make it easier for people to post.

Ask the mods about explanations for moderations.

And I actually disagree. You're a new user so I don't know if you were here before the ToU reform, but things were even stricter back then - nowadays I think it's too soft - others agree as well from the looks of it.

My advice to you would be to read the ToU - get a general idea of what's acceptable and what's not and read the stickies on the boards so you know what to post and what not to post. That should make a difference.

Well I totally disagree with you. I don't know how it was before but it's too complicated and harsh, plus most of the good threads are closed down for no particular reason at all and it makes it impossible to join in a discussion. This is supposed to be for the fans of games, not a playground for mods to inflict warnings and go around ruining the discussions, in fact it's almost as though the mods don't want anyone to have a discussion at all.

While a few of the categories are straight forward some are plain ridiculous and it's too hard to understand even after reading all the rules where something can go or not. Also why are mods closing threads with good conversations going? Also what's the deal with discussions only certain levels can participate in? That's dumb too. What does it matter?

Kinda, I recently got one for calling a VIRTUAL character a g*y e*o....seems like there is a Dante / DMC 5 Fanboy among the Mods or so. I meant, I could understand it if I'd actually call a forum user by that name, which I never would do, but goddamit, offensive content against polygons... >_>

I've been here since 2007 and I've had several warnings, one I can understand why cause I did say something really offensive and stupid, but the rest were obsurd. But I'd have to agree with you.

I agree, imo Mods should only really worry about stopping spam and personal insults, like posting personal information and serious verbal attacks/racism.

Otherwise just let the forums live and breathe.

I think it is fine how it is. Under the old ToU, I used to get modded all the time for dumb stuff. I got suspended for 2 weeks for calling someone a moron. Under the newest ToU, I can't believe some of the stuff I have gotten away with.

I agree that trolling and use of offensive insults needs to be reigned in but then again it's the only comments on 90% of the forum posts so I just join in tell others how I feel just like they do to me. I think it would make much more sense to censor the above comments than worry if a person bumped an "old" thread that WASN"T ever closed for comments that people actually want to participate in. If the forum is the wrong category just move it and don't warn anyone about it.

Maybe the problem then is that they are moderating the wrong things?
