    Without doubt the best shooter I've ever played. ONE of the best games around, but not quite the greatest (BioShock cannot beat dethroned). I would have recommended playing Far Cry 2 before Far Cry 3 in order to see the significant difference, improved in almost every respect. Far Cry 2 is sluggish, dull and highly repetitive and is not recommended personally.

    i havent played it so i cant really say but in my mind the best game this gen is metal gear 4 and fallout 3/NV. those were the only games that made me sad when i beat them because i didnt want them to end.

    I think it's a good game, but best game of all time? No chance. That is just my opinion but certainly is a solid shooter with many hours of enjoyment to be had.

    The last two games I've finished have been Red Dead Redemption and Far Cry 3 and I think Red Dead is a much better game story and character wise.Far Cry 3 is a great open world shooter but best game ever?........not even close.

    I can't comment on FC3 as I have yet to play it, but FC2 got terribly boring after a while. The shooting is just bad, enemies can take half a magazine to the chest without dropping. I would not recommend playing it.

    LOL I completely agree, I had FC 2 back when I had a 360 and I liked it at first but I got tired of it after a while. The respawns, weapon jamming, and slow pace of the game really annoyed me. FC 3 is awesome and I love it but I wouldn't consider it to be the best shooter ever.

    However, it's probably no doubt that the general consensus is that FC3 is an example of a game done right, with a plethora of opportunites to draw out engrossment and interest from the player. And that's definitely the sign of a great game, if anything.
