This isn't a thread argument about which franchise is better than the other nor is it about Microsoft or Halo. PS4 is on the horizon and it's gonna need an exclusive FPS to help it compete with MS in that area (again, this is NOT a MS or Halo-related thread). This gen has given Sony two exclusive FPS franchise's to work with, the Killzone series and the Resistance series. The Resistance series debut first on the PS3 and had two sequels this gen while Killzone had already released its first title on PS2 to less than steller reviews and brought back hope for the franchise with KZ2 and 3 this gen. From these two franchises, which would you rather see on the next Sony console and why? If not either one, state your reason.

I'd rather see another KZ, but I dont really care for either.
I hope fps games lose steam going forward, or evolve into something much more compelling. I've been beyond sick of em since 2007. I know every genre gets its over-saturated run of fame, but this sh*ts been going on for far too long.

I'd rather see a Resistance 4, but it won't likely happen. A Killzone 4 from the perspective of the Helghast has the potential to be awesome though, especially when the series lore paints both sides in moral shades of grey.

Not really the point at all.
I'm talking about over-saturation. And saying 2d side scrollers is a bit vague. I didnt say I want every 3d game with camera control to vanish did I?
2d platformers had their point of over-saturation between the 8 and 16 bit generations, but even then it never got to the same boiling point as fps is now.
I dont want fps to vanish. I'm just tired of every other game being an fps. Especially when so many of them are uninspired and recycled from other games.
All I'm saying is they need to get more interesting, or take a step back so another genre can be in the spotlight for a while.

PS3, Wii, 360 owner. Not gonna lie though, I dont really care for the 360.
PC: CPU = i7980x, GPU = Nvidia Quadro 4000, RAM = 24gb Corsair Dominator DDR3, Mobo = Asus P6X58D, PSU = Corsair 1200ax, Case = Antec 1200.
Out of those two, I say Killzone.
Sony really needs a mass appeal game in the genre though. Come up with something simple, fun and addictive like Halo. Then market the sh*t out of it! Like Halo.
Resistance was almost what they needed, but they didn't quite hit the mark.
