I can't understand why people think it's so bad. It's a wealthy nation and unless you are a radical trying to change their ways you will be fine. N. Korea on the other hand has massive poverty and is communist. Womens rights and other issues Saudi may have are the least of their worries.

Yeah apart from the crazy ideological differences, day-to-day life doesn't seem all that bad. I found it quite comfortable there and rather enjoyed it. I often saw women outside (without a man :shock, horror
