System Wars is a one of a kind destination where gamers can discuss, rant, and debate about systems, platforms, handhelds and the games. Not many people survive System Wars. The mightiest system warriors back up their arguments with facts.

Rules are simple:
- Read the Terms of Use and System Wars Survival Guide.
- Must be Level 10 or higher to create topics.
- Keep your discussions around what belongs here: platforms, games, developers, publishers, and stats.
- Don't quote more than one image in your post.
- Do NOT post or bump extremely abusive discussions (adult material/illegal activities/illegal advertising/etc).

button mashing is a play-style not a game-style.. so it's funny to see gamers mention this since this is obviously how they play hack-n-slash titles. you can play these games with precision if you're not a casual noob.

I'm talking about the segements where you have to mash the sticks to get out of the holds, mash X to repel that boss's arm or w/e and in button mashing in the slow mo.

But if it is possible to play through a game with button mashing, the game is doing it wrong. Demon / Dark Souls are two of a few games that do melee combat right.

Sure, you can "hack" your way through the whole game. The mechanics give you the freedom to have "style", and they're tight enough to let you extend yourself a little and not be punished too much.

A game like The Witcher 2 (my closest reference to the Souls games), you have maybe 9 melee attacks, and the mechanics force you to never extend yourself, you can't catch any mistakes. Sit there guarding because "it's realistic".

Another game you can "hack your way through" is Mirror's Edge, or you can learn to side jump, do multipile spinny jump off walls things, land w/o rollling or stopping, use w/o the use animation, and how to get to places in odd ways.

DMC3 move list (Dante, swordmaster alone):

The first fight was good, the second one was terrible, too much QTE & slow mo abuse for my taste.

Its got some cool hooks and a sonic feel that fits the tone of the game perfectly.

One thing I find weird is that even though the person who ripped it says he ripped it from the demo, the song's lyrics are different in the demo video. Maybe there are two versions of the song? Maybe he ripped the song from an old build of the demo?

I want to know the name of the band. Hope Konami and Platinum don't do the stupid things that Capcom did when they revealed the singer to Nero's Theme - "Jason 'Shyboy' Arnold of Hyonogaja" when it's supposed to be Jason 'Shyboy' Arnold of HYPNOGAJA.

Yup, I picked up on this as well..especially since the bit which is different is the bit which i really like from the song. I prefer the demo version.

The song in the demo is most probably called, "Laws/Rules of Nature". (atleast that's what it sounds like when the dude is about to start the chorus).

The first sequence was fun to watch. The second, not so much. I hope they do us the favor of making all the pop ups removable. I don't want to have a HUD, nor hints, or button prompts past the first instant I'm told what to do.
