Hello I just did a fresh Window 7 install but I don't have internet access. When I tried trouble shooting the problem it "Windows could not find a driver fo your network adapter". I'm pretty sure I've already installed everything that came with my motherboard which include the chipset drivers, audio driver, and USB 3.0 drivers. When I try installing the installation CD that came with my router it displays "no adapter, No working newtwork adapter was detected." My ethernet cable works because I already tested on my Xbox 360 but when I plug it in to my back of my PC, on the motherboard, there is a glowing orange light with a green light blinking every few seconds. I even tried reseting both my modem and router. Help?

My mother board is an ASUS M5A97 R2.0 by the way.

Edit: I might also be important to mention I haven't activated my Windows Product Key yet since I wasn't able to get online.

Im not saying those arent great games. Im saying they just didnt have the impact on gaming like console games in comparison. Halo pretty much kickstarted the FPS genre.

I did exactly what you said but during the installation it said "The Realtek Network Contoller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled Pleaase Plug the Cable." I don't know what that is about.

right click 'my computer', 'manage', 'services', then you should get a list where plug & play also is in, which should be set on automatic & running

Been reading all over the internet and it seems like my problem is that my computer can't find my network adapter. I checked BIOS and it said "Realtek LAN Controller Enabled"(don't see any other LAN settings). I also tried some other suggestions on the internet like unpluging my power cord of 10 minutes to get my mobo off of sleep mode and unplugging my RAM, still nothing.

Edit: ...and just to be sure I looked up my motherboard again and it does have a LAN chipset, Realtek 8111F to be exact .

Go download the driver for the ethernet chipset.

I had this problem with reinstalling which is pretty dumb since you need the internet to update the drivers, so you are going to have to download from another computer and into usb to that rig.

    Steam id: Biko is L1nsani7y Rig: i5 2500k 4.1ghz + 9700cnps Nvidia ed. l GTX 570 Evga (960/1920/2400~max) l 2x4gb PNY Optima l Corsair HX520 l e7dac/e9amplifier > Ultrasone Dj1 l Alienware M11x r1

Chipset for your network driver should come with your motherboard cd. Search the cd for it and install the drivers.

In the device manager, are there any unknown devices listed with an exclamation point on the side?
