the 8000 series have had a supposed specs leak and videocardz is on station for when it happened. according to the picture the 8990 will be the one to watch with a transistor count that is exponentially high over a 7990 and could very well be the largest single use of transistors in the HISTORY OF COMPUTERS

as for the venus xt and venus pro 8900 series single cards the specs have generally improved vs a 7970 (on paper) about 25 - 50%. the 8870 on down is essentially the cards getting bumped down a numerical and price notch omitting the 8700 series which is actually alot more like a 6950 and 6930 with new stickers including the bump up to 192-bit from 128-bit memory interfaces which is a LONG time coming.

all of this assuming however that you believe the leak.

im atm digging for a confirmation on this being legit. ill let you know if it rings true.

not that stupid...considering my 7970 comes packed with nearly 4 billion transistors, the 8970 having 5 billion makes sense. The 8990 is probably one monster cock of a card though LOL.

    RIG

    Core i7 3770k//AMD Radeon 7970 3gb//4GB DDR3 1600 Corsair XMS3// Antec HCG 620 watt PSU// CoolerMaster HAF 922 Midtower Case// Acer 23 inch 1080p LCD monitor// 500 GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 rpm//60 GB OCZ Vertex II SSD

This'll surely bring nvidia to their knees and slap them around LOL like the disgusting savage inbreds they are and show everything that AMD is superior in every way to the competition.

Isn't that what you're thinking ionusX? We all know it is.

    My rig: Intel i5 2500k | 8GB 2000Mhz RAM | 2x 120GB SSD in RAID 0 | AMD HD 6970 2GB | Asus P8Z68-V LX

    Lulz...

It's not like Nvidia would bring out anything of their own to compete is it!?!

actually kepler 2.0 is set for the end of 2013 atm as nvidia's only info so far is their flagships supposed specs and a release window of "2013" which means jsut about anything at this point.

nvidia has gotten caught with their pants down, effectively. their roadmap for the longest time assumed the other guys (amd) gpu lineup would pale in comparison to kepler 1.0 as maxwell would be 2 years off now they need to re-imagine kepler and have had little time to work with it. as a result kepler will probably be a pretty bad jerry rigged job.

now before u start b!tching lemme get this clear this will be a rush job. rush job =/= bad or worse than amd in fact a whole expect an interesting fight HOWEVER i expect no dual gpu from them this time around. this is because as of yet nvidia has only talked its single core flagships k20 and k20X. so atm id say dont count on a dual gpu to compete with the 8990 which if you think about it means that nvidia has given up hope on competing in yet another market segment. which is not a good omen. does it mean maxwell wont have a dual gpu, no but its unlikely. and by unlikely i mean the same odds that jake456 will come in here and troll

if you asked me id say its the innovators dilema at work here. nvidia rather than compete with AMD directly they hava simply focused on a higher end market segment. and as a result will soon be pushed into making expensive and impractical products. it happened the GM when asian car companies moved in to the US market. and it happened when amd walked into the cpu scene until the core 2 duo lineup when intel got wise.

I doubt the power requirements of the 8950+,

    loosingENDS Wisdom:

My PC is not a gaming PC in the sense that does not have a GPU that will run games in playable frame rates, other than that is a DX11 GPU that will run any game in any setting

    Was xbox 360 based on a 9800 pro of 2003 ?

No, it was based on a 8800GTX of 2006

I doubt the power requirements of the 8950+,

Here, have some more rumor madness! :3

    10 WHAT FLOPS?

    http://www.pcper.com/news/Graphics-Cards/AMD-Radeon-HD-8990-Rumored-2013-Launch

Being a rumor thread about the series I might as well throw in interesting finds. But I make no comment on their autheticity.
