I'm sure the movie will be fine but will disappoint those that go in expecting another Lord of the Rings.

The Dark Knight Rises effect. Just as good as the previous movie, if not better but reviews are lower because of the hype. I think expecting something better than LoTR is stupid. It also seems like some reviewer are rating it low just because of 48 fps.

Lets wait and see the film before deciding rather or not the reviews are fair.

Didn't Jackson also put together District 9? I know someone else directed it, but Jackson had something to do with that movie I believe.

District 9 and yes he was a producer for the movie.

    The director was Neil Blomkamp.

If the LOTR trilogy got a film for each book, then there is NO REASON for the Hobbit to be split into three movies, considering The Hobbit is the shortest book of them all. For that reason alone, I have no strong desire to see them. They'll be incredibly boring.

Do not invite me to your union. Doing so will get you ignored.

The Hobbit has a slow beginning. Naturally this is reflected in film 1.

Hmmm. Hobbit is a small book, so I wonder why Jackson wanted to split the book into 3 movies.

i'm not sure why they split it up into three movies. two would have been fine if they couldn't do it in one. there's not enough solid content in the novel to float three feature-lengths.

I kind of expected it wouldn't be as great as Fellowship, Two Towers, and Return of the King. It's very difficult to live up to the level of greatness that trilogy brought to the cinema.
