I think it's pointless for them to try to get attention thinking it's going to make others feel bad for them or about themselves. They need to wake up, smell the coffee, and realize that most people are not going to have any sympathy for them.

What I've never understood about suicide is how many failed attempts there are. Killing ones self can be very assured. Suicide attempts I see as nothing but crys for help and attention. If someone truly wants to die they will get it right the first time. If I were to do it it'd be a gunshot to the head right before falling off the golden gate bridge in the case that the bullet doesn't do the job. I'd leave no room for chance, because I wouldn't want to live with people knowing that I had attempted suicide and thinking that I did it for attention.

Yeah I forgot how easy it was for a teenager who doesn't have access to a gun and knows nobody with a gun could just so easily get a gun to kill themselves, or to find an incredibly high up location (because obviously skyscrapers and giant bridges are everywhere) that might not even kill them but just maim them.

    Flawless logic.

I actually agree with MirkoS77. If you are 100% committed to ending your life there should be no reason for failure.

They'll take precautions to make sure they aren't interrupted and most likely will have planned this for a while. Laying down on train tracks or jumping in front the subway, carbon monoxide poisoning and hanging yourself are all pretty sure fire ways of ending it if one is lacking a firearm.

If they want it bad enough they'll find a way. I think most with suicide attempts are those that just wanted someone to know how they feel, because they don't know how to express their emotions properly when they are genuinely suffering. Then there are people that just want attention.

Yeah, it is incredibly difficult to go up to the 100th floor and jump isn't it? Or find a knife to slit one's wrists? I should've known better.

OD, Knife, Gun, falling to death, jump in front of car, spontaneously explode, combust on fire. Auto erotic asphyxiation, Hanging. Quite a few choices.
