Or you could exercise self control if you don't have the time to play those games.

If GTAIV is your standard for a fun sandbox game then it's hard to go wrong with any other sandbox game

SR is just over the top fun, it has nothing on any aspect of any GTA game, well maybe it does on 3 since it sucked.

I thought SR2 was more fun, but SR3 is great as well.

SR3 was great. Granted I don't like over the top silliness for too long so I made my character a bit more 'normal' or realistic. Awesome fun.

Of course it is, it embraces it's stupidity. From what I agthered though it gets boring fast. I got it in the THQ bundle yesterday so I will play it at a later date. I don't expect to like it more than GTA though, at all. GTA games are a different beast. Well maybe more than GTA IV as that was a bit of a letdown.

Was my favorite in the series so far. The moment they stopped taking the series seriously was the moment it became fun as hell.

It's generally than GTA, but once I beat it I like to just drive around and I prefer GTA for that. Hopefully GTA 5 will be fun now, unlike 4.

SR3 is great for its lunacy and a game I got in a Steam sale and was glad I did. The Sandbox king for me is still Just Cause 2 since the amount of hilarious mucking-around and excessive explosions never gets old in the game (There are fewer chances in SR to run around blowing nearly anything up "because you can"), even after you've finished the missions.

    Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.8GHz - Noctua NH-U12P - Asus P6T Motherboard
    6GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 RAM - 240GB Corsair Force GS SSD - Caviar Black 1TB + 500GB HDDs
    Sapphire AMD Radeon 7970 3GB - 36" Samsung HDTV
Corsair AX750 PSU - Corsair 600T Special Edition case
Corsair Vengeance K60 Keyboard - Razer Mamba mouse

Yeah most people are like this, I'm not however and I actually buy games I'll play, instead of just buying for the sake of "Oh the deals!". I have like 30 games I haven't even installed and others I've played maybe 2 hours worth then went onto another game, so I stopped buying just because it was cheap.

SR3 is really fun for a few weeks, especially if you play it with a friend but the story is a blast : D

    Why are you still here?

Anyways, i loved all the saintsrow games. I feel like 2 had more content but at least 3 isnt a much of a crappy port as 2 ways.

It's a good game but one of the best sandboxes? I don't know about that. I'd put Just Cause 2, Saints Row 2, and Fallout New Vegas over it. As well as the STALKER games (if those even count as sandbox games, not sure they do) Each of those games had way more content and lasting appeal. SR3 is an excellent game though.

While I love Saints Row 3 but Its lack of mod support and mod tools kit keeps it from being the best sandbox game imo.
