We've been killing infants in war for thousands of years. Do you really think that war will stop cause a kid died? Kids dying is used for recruiting longer wars not stopping them.

You know, I want to feel like maybe all people aren't horrible, but it shocks me to see how people can just feel no sympathy like this. Someone linked me a thread in a truly horrible website where the forum goers were just cracking jokes, saying it was fake, saying nobody cared, etc.

Here I kind of expected differently, hoping that people could see the anguish in a father whose young child was killed because of senseless war, regardless of nationality, belief or skin color.

But maybe I'm just being optimistic, but regardless of whether other infants have died, or whether he's Palestinian, this is a tragedy but I guess what makes it a real tragedy is the reaction some people give it, which shows how possible this can be when so little empathy is given.

What reaction do you want? It is awful that kids die. However look at the initial OP. It wasn't that hey, this really sucks cause kids die on both sides. What we need to do is put a world wide effort into getting all sides to stop. It was "Those evil no good Israels....!".

I can read about a kid killed in any country and often between the lines of some diety passage and "makes me feel bad inside" there is a statement of of how to basically use the dead kid as a match to incite more violence/revenge that will get more kids killed.

Also I don't have sympathy for the father's plight. I have empathy for it. For the loss and for the reality of having something to attach the anger/hate towards. That he will have plenty of support to fuel those feelings and maybe become part of the problem even in the wake of this. But maybe he is a better man. Heres hoping.

The picture of that man with his child is awful

The world is a fvcked up place. Always has been and always will be. It's a profoundly sad realization but it's the truth.

First of all please bear with me as my English isn't up to the mark.

No, it's not about just one kid dying. What I want to show is the inhumanity of Israelis and their crimes and against humanity. Why no one in the world speaks against that. After all we all condemn Nazis for their crimes against humanity but I dare not point my finger at Israeli/Zionist attrocities, why is that? The Jews still plays the victim cards 60 years after the holocaust when they control pretty much entire worlds economy and virtually entire world.

Just to be noted, I'm not aginst Jews nor do I have any problem with Judaism as a religion but I detest Zionist and that illegal terrorist state of Israel. To me they have become what they hated the most, they become the Nazionists of the 21st century.

Just to clearify things further how would you feel if tomorrow your country gets invaded and your people drived from their own country to what really is a prison without roof (Gaza). Yes, Israel blocades all routes to Gaza.

Let's take another case for instance, when Turkey sent its aid flotilla to Gaza and it was attacked by the IDF while the flotilla was in international borders, wasn't that the clear violation of international laws, wasn't it a terrorist attack against an un-armed civilian vessals. Just imagine this sort of attack carried out by Iran. You can guess the media and the international backlash on it. Hell I could bet the US would push for a NATO strike on Iran if that would happen but not a single word was said against Israel.

Here is another article you need to know about Gaza: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/mehdi-hasan/ten-things-you-need-to-kn_b_2139356.html

I think your over analyzing a bit. It would be safe to say that most people feel bad about this but there's a few factors that play into the joking behavior. Mostly desensitization to this sort of stuff since we see it all the time and it can be funny to say shocking things on the internet.

No reason to doubt humanity though...

How is it war when one side has literally no means of defense, they have no airforce, no army, mo military, no navy whatsoever. If it is indeed a war isn't it collective human responsibility to stand with the weak and defenseless? Atleast that was the purpose of UN or was it not? Afterall we are long past medieval times.

of course its a war, just because one side has less weapons doesn't suddenly make it something else, in the same way the US fought a war in Vietnam , or the Soviets did in Afghanistan.or hell the current war in Afghanistan.

the UN was created to solve international disputes, to prevent war on the scale of the 2 world wars, although the UN is more or less a paper tiger in this.
