If you can't recognize that Merry Christmas has far more meaning than the religious one, I'm very sorry for you. I'm not religious at all, but I don't get offended when someone says that to me.
I view it as a nice greeting, a wish for peace, luck, friendship, humanity, something like that.

It blows my mind that people are actually upset that firms are trying to maximize profits by using a greeting that is holiday-neutral and nonspecific. Morons like Bill O'Reilly have made this a yearly issue, and he actually thinks that the federal government should force businesses to celebrate Christmas because its a federal holiday.
