I don't know, it just failed to hold my interest. Not really sure why, it had all the elements to be exciting. Afterwards I talked to all of my friends and they had similar opinions.

Lori and Carl probably killed it for you. I can't decide which one I dislike more.

So I heard on the radio today that this season premiere set a new viewing record for cable dramas. 10.9 MILLION viewers FOR JUST THE FIRST SHOWING!

With the replays counted they said it bumped up to over 15 million viewers for the night.

As for the second season, the first half had too much filler, but man that second half was pretty epic. I feel like the mid-season finale was the start of a huge jump in quality for the season.

That epic barn scene led to the awesome Nebraska episode, 18 Miles Out episode, and of course those final 2 episodes which were fantastic.

But yeah, freaking LOVE this show and the game for that matter as well. I am actually dying for the final episode of the game to be released with the HUGE cliffhanger they left with the 4th episode...

Maybe it's because I've read the comic books and I'm aware that they substituted what happened to a character they left out of series with Hershel so I have a general idea of what's going to happen.

I feel like the last time I was genuinely interested in what they were going to do was when they were in the bar.

Also, how did the guys in suits get turned? They were hard enough to kill with weapons, I question how they were killed by walkers through that much gear. I know they'll turn if they just die, but I doubt they would have died of natural causes with those suits on.

he goes from big ole whiny kid

to 'im killing zombies left and right from 200 yards away with my silenced pistols no big deal'

with us being shown none of his character progression

    sloppy

at least have him be kinda good with a gun or something and then have the first two episodes of S3 really beat the badass into him

    Me talking to my friends:

Me: Hey, do you watch Breaking Bad?

    Friend: No.

Me: Do you watch the Walking Dead?

Friend: OMFG YES BEST SHOW EVER!

I actually find season 2 to be just as enjoyable as the first season...i have never read the comics but I do know a show that doesn't bother exploring it's main characters and just has them capping zombies left and right would get old quickly....season two for me has really helped reinforce the hopelessness of the whole situation...I've got 4 more epis to watch in season 2 but it has not been a disappointing for me at all...and while breaking bad is good...i don't find it nearly as gripping....can't get into the characters at all...

They kind of did show some character progression with Carl in the second season. I remember seeing him mature some. He shot zombie Shane in the head at the end of S2.

"We embarked on our journey to the stars with a question first framed in the childhood of our species and in each generation asked anew with undiminished wonder: What are the stars? Exploration is in our nature. We began as wanderers, and we are wanderers still. We have lingered long enough on the shores of the cosmic ocean. We are ready at last to set sail for the stars." - Carl Sagan

I don't really like the huge jump between season 2-3. When season 3 started, the crew was almost unrecognizable with much they had changed and evolved along with the new gear, etc.

i remember carl as being a pretty big idiot

    playing with a zombie

constantly going where he was told not to

    never staying put

him killing zombie shane was the only good thing he did

and really shane should have been alive when he killed him but w/e

Carl was a little too much of a bad-a** during the premier. But whatever. Maybe he'll get eaten to make up for it this Sunday.
