So I decided to get the game running to see how the game is faring,on server select most servers were "high" or "very high" with some "medium" and "full" populated servers, met 9 other players while running around (compared to WoW where I meet next to no one outside towns and dungeons). This proves that the game is dead.
One of the mobs dropped an exotic which I sold for 4 gold, probably because Nexon is inflating the currency so you have to buy more gems to get somehting worthwhile.
Also, it was
fun
Looks like Fort Aspenwood got a boost in WvW, since apparently Isle of Janthir lost more than half of their major guilds, which a lot of them has transfer to FA. So FA is still going to hang out in Tier 3 as the gap between FA and Isle is getting bigger and bigger.
Also saw a way of getting other order armors that I can't get with a certain character. My Charr now runs around with a Vigil chestpiece even through he with the Order of the Whispers.:P

PLAYING : GUILD WARS 2 I WALKING DEAD I NBA2K13 I HOTLINE MIAMI
You should see AVTR work their magic when skirmishing. They all run as Mesmer and do a timed confusion/reflect bomb.
Poor IoJ. They are officailly the new Henge of Denravi.
They pretty played alot like our server. Mostly offensive. Apparently there was alot of tension within their NA and Oceanic guilds for awhile, where it was the Oceanic bunch in IoJ getting fed up of playing cleanup. The news of the paid transfers came up and their biggest NA guild jumped ship to Sanctum of Rall, which eventually tipped others to leave as the WvW situation would have only gotten worse. Cant believe our server is still in Tier 3, we've been on this tier for 9 weeks, clinging on thanks to the core group of guilds having this reliable inter-communication going on; we've have never won this tier once.
Meanshile, Fort Aspenwood seems too hot for IonusX's lolDragonbrand right now. :D

WvW-oriented clans are moving from servers in which most of the population plays PvE to the ones focused in WvW. In the current times to be competitive oftenly any given WvW server had clans from different geographic areas (N.A., Europe...) in order to be able to rotate turns and being active 24/7.
As the result WvW in typical PvE servers usually means being trampled if a WvW-centered server falls in your path.
I think that the game needs a new mode to fill the gap between tPvP and WvW, a mode that last few hours instead of weeks and involving smaller maps, maybe with 25 x 25 x 25 players instead of 80 x 80 x 80, to prevent a kind of gameplay so focused on zerging.

In general, most of the servers have a population that primarily play PvE. But the rotation/coverage thing is pretty spot on, IoJ were actually a stong WvW server that had polar opposite coverage to the server im in, hence the odd 'merger'. But I wouldnt underestimate the power of when the casual WvWer that mostly play PvE gets in the mix, not sure if you played Tarnished Coast, but they pretty much rode on the strength of participation with their larger PvX guilds that seemed to WvW when whenever felt like it.
As for the trampling in the middle tiers, it is the cause of bandwagoning to matchup stomping servers (Kaineng and Maguuma), I hope these glory-seekers and server jumpers eventually regret it once they hit a wall. These guilds will just never find a proper 'home' or server community to intergrate with. Meanwhile, the lower tiers seem to be having some close balance matchups right now.

Zerging, in WvW, things that encourage it right now.
- Anet added armour creep to WvW, which encourages players to seek safety
- Downstate: The ease of rezzing offers a safety net to be with others. Currently, unless you have had some sPvP practice where downed state plays a more important layer in gameplay; rezzing in large groups is easier than having to stomp a player.
- Instagib Thieves + culling spoil the majority of small scale encounters
- Large groups are better equipped with supply and blueprints
- The follow the Commander icon mentality is too effective (and enjoyable if the commander is good and gets players involved)
- Zerging is more social,I really dont believe that the whole AoE cap nonsense causes Zerging directly, as the majority of the playerbase doesnt know a cap even exists. Even for the ones that are aware of such cap--being, the dedicated WvW guilds--they'd have their own way of handing skirmishes against larger groups of players.

WvW is fine for a large PvP mode, it just needs some tuning here and there.
The heart of GvG was a ranking system. The appeal of GvG goes far beyond just a mode, it was big for all the rivalry, the drama and was an avenue for glory-seekers that want to be the top. Currently, there is nothing in GW2 that provides some guild ranking and the upcoming sPvP update (and sPvP in general) is geared towards traditional sized teams of 5 instead of the larger sized guilds.

Pretty much this.
AoEing has nothing do with the zerg mentality. It is just easier, safer, more social and thanks to the fact that there are more plaeyrs (supply, blueprints), allows for more sieging.

Not everyone jumps server for WvW reasons. I transferred to Maguuma recently because there was a stronger PvE Community presence than I got on my old server Stormbluff Isle. I imagine that most of the server jumping will cease with the advent of paid server transfer, so those servers with strong WvW will eventually rise to the top and WvW will balance out across the board.
Also Quaggan backpack is so cute. I need one for my Asura.

First thing I noticed in the announcement was the pictures of horses. Is there horses in the game anywhere? I remember cows, lots of cows, but no horses.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.
