I certainly think so. Cameron goes on about respecting the police and a cabinet minister failed to do that. He's no different essentially from a London rioter in my eyes and should be treated as such by the police and the law.

Storm in a teacup. He wasn't trying to rob or loot anyone. He just wanted to ride his bike through a gate.

It pains me to say it but it really has been pounced upon by anti tories, and this is coming from a very outspoken Anti conservative. His ability to govern has nothing to do with this event and what he did wasn't that bad really. Worse things have been done by other cabinet members (Warsi, Clarke, Hunt spring to mind) and they still kept their jobs. also annoying how the story has knocked the actual Manchester shootings of the headlines.

It could have been a storm in a teacup had he not kept on changing his story and refusing to be co-operative and direct about it. Simply admitting to it and an apology was all it took.

agree on this part, he certainly didn't make things better for himself in that respect.

    Yup.

The fact that he had a rant at a Police Officer does not have any reflection on his capability to perform well in his job.

The Thick of It described the government as "an Etonian mess". I think that description is apt.
