I have this game. All four original Sonic games play quite well on the DS. This is worth the $19.99 asking price. These games play smoothly as the original Genesis versions.

Now playing: Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (360), Pokemon: SoulSilver (DS)
I have it and it's a very good compilation. AND has a GOOD handheld version of the SEGA Genesis original, unlike the GBA Sonic Genesis.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

I actually have the limited edition version of this game that came in a metal tin with a sonic figure & some artwork cards. But the games play just as good as the original version, so well worth getting.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

Here is the thing, the collection is alright but because of the screen ratio the playing area is zoomed in and there are glitches due to the emulation of the games also there are sounds and music glitches and all thatmakes it difficult to really recommend. I would recommend getting Sonic Mega Collection on PS2 or Gamecube, you can download the games on Wii, Ps3, or 360, or play them on Sega Genesis. If you want to have the games on the go then the PSP Sega Genesis Collection have Sonic 1 and 2. But if you want to them on the DS then just be aware of the issues it has but it is still playable. Whatever you do through do NOT get Sonic Genesis for the GBA it is unplayable.

My gaming blog and a different kind of videogame review. "No, no, no. Amateur! Lie down before you hurt yourself..." -- Timon
El ZoRRo vs Omega Prime! Witness the epic battle yourself! Who was right? Lord only knows(well, Him and anyone who finished the ninth grade...)Jeez. I haven't bought a Sonic compilation since Sonic Jam on Sega Saturn. How many of them are there now?- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.
True, they aren't pefect, but it does have it's advantages over other compliliations as well. For instance you can play as Knuckles in Sonic 2 and you get the complete "Sonic 3 and Knuckles." And you can save you're progress in all the games. You cannot save in Sonic Mega Collection, and you cannot mix the games in the Ultimate collection on PS3 and 360.
Off the top my head I can think of....
Sonic Jam (Saturn)
Sonic Mega Collection/plus (GCN, PS2, X-Box)
Sonic Classic Collection (DS)
Sonic Ultimate Genisis Collection(PS3, 360)
There are also some games on the PSP that include a couple Sonic games, along with other Genesis games. Can''t remember the name though.

You forgot Sonic Gems Collection(GC,PS2)
And Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection isn't a Sonic collection,it's a collection of Mega Drive(Genesis)games.
AND,i'm pretty sure you CAN save on the Mega Collection.

Yes, you can save in Sonic Mega Collection PS2 but it more of a save-state type of deal in games that don't have saves included already. This means Sonic 3 and Sonic 3 and Knuckles save like they would on the Sega Genesis because they have save originally but Sonic 1 and 2 don't really save but through the save-state. Sonic Mega Collection have all of the locked on games of Sonic & Knuckles including Knuckles in Sonic 2. You right about the other collections don't have the all the games but Sonic Mega Collection have all of the Sonic games from the base Sega Genesis. When I played through Sonic Classic Collection the glitches and the sound issues like the music doesn't speed up with fast shoes power-up and the wrong music being played for certain things and gameplay slowdowns is enough to me to not to really recommend it especially to someone who playing the games for the first time. These issues don't exist in the Sonic Mega Collection when I played that on the PS2. Sonic Classic Collection is just a low OKoption to have the games on the go, you can get use to the issues and is playable unlike the complete mess of Sonic Genesis for GBA.
