I listen to metal (which is seen by some as unintelligent) and yet I am pretty intelligent. I'm in computer engineering at the University of Toronto so I think I can vouch for myself.

Also, be sure to check out my heavy metal blog at http://metalontheside.blogspot.com

No. The smartest person I know listens to radio pop music and watches reality tv, which some would say only unintelligent people watch, but she is a genius.

I expected a lot of yes answers right off the bat, thanks for proving me wrong OT.

When did intelligence became a linear thing? Growing up I was taught that there are different kinds of smarts, and stereotypes that people of literature can't do math and vice versa. Whatever happened to that? It now seems like if you lack knowledge or struggle in any field of knowledge, it's because you're stupid.

Not necesarilly indicative of someone's intelligence even though it can tell you a bit about what that person consists of.

    But interesting proposition, nonetheless.

If you are 25+ and love Teletubbies and Sesame Street, you may be mentally challenged.

I don't think so. I will say, however, that anyone who likes Coldplay doesn't know enough about musical theory.

No... I bet Einstein would have enjoyed the Jackass guys just as much as anyone else. I chose Jackass because they do the stupidest things imaginable and yet intelligent people still watch that stuff.

A few months ago, I read "Professional Idiot: A Memoir", Steve-O's autobiography. It was quite a fascinating book.
